DotA

Defense of the Ancients (often referred to as DotA) is a custom scenario for Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne, based on the Aeon of Strife map for Star Craft. The objective of the scenario is to destroy the opponents' Ancient, a heavily guarded structure in each corner of the map. Players use powerful units known as heroes, and are assisted by allied heroes and AI-controlled fighters called creeps. Players level up their hero and use gold to buy equipment during the mission.

The scenario was developed with the World Editor of Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos, and was updated upon the release of The Frozen Throne. There have been many variations of the original concept, the most popular of which is DotA Allstars, which has been maintained by several authors during development.

Each human player controls one Hero, a powerful unit with unique abilities. In Allstars, players on each side choose one of ninety heroes, each with different abilities and tactical advantages over other heroes. The scenario is highly team-oriented; it is difficult for one player to carry the team to victory alone. Nevertheless, some heroes, given enough time, can change the outcome single-handedly, while countering the opposing team's heroes. Defense of the Ancients allows up to ten players in a five versus five format and an additional two slots for referees or observers, often with an even number of players on each side

Rikimaru - Invisible Killer

Whatz up DotA Addicts, I am Link (a.k.a ClawOfDeath) and this is my first post at this blog, about Rikimaru, one of my favourite heroes. As you all know, Rikimaru is one of the imba hero killers out there, blessed (by IceFrog) with perma invisibility and a devastating attack with backstab. First of all I have to clear out that THIS IS NOT A HERO GUIDE! This is just a discussion about item builds for Rikimaru.

Rikimaru - The Stealth Assassin
Born as the heir to the satyr dominion, Rikimaru was trained by the mightiest warriors of his race. However, the power of the Burning Legion managed to corrupt many of his kind, leaving them as mindless beasts in the forest. Vowing revenge against the Scourge, he sharpened his skills for battle. Using his small size to his advantage, he can render himself invisible, enabling him to stab his enemies in the back. And by using thick smoke as cover he becomes nearly untouchable.

Item Build
For Rikimaru, I prefer building the following set of items.

1.Some Tangos / Flask
For early game survival
2.Chicken
Optional, to stay in lane mostly during early game to level up
3.Wraith Bands (x2)
Boost up your Primary, and also to boost Backstab damage
4. Boots of Speed -> Power Treads
Of course, you gotta run !
5.Yasha
Increase Attack Speed, Increased Movement Speed, + Primary and + Backstab Damage !!!
6.Sange
With Maim, you will have easy time chasing and scoring kills. You are an assasin after all, so why would you let them run ? Coupled with Blink, this will make you own the game.
7.Sange & Yasha
More chance to maim, more agi, more HP (strength), more damage, more movement speed, more attack speed, more backstab damage ! Oh My !!!
8.Butterfly
Again, +30 Agility, +30% Attack Speed, +30 Damage, 30% Evasion. With this, you are untouchable. With +30 Agi and +30% AS, you gain a 60% Attack Speed boost. Then, since Agi is your primary, with +30 Agi and +30 Damage boost, you gain +60 Damage for your normal attacks. Then again, with +30 Agi, your Backstab damage is again boosted by +30. So with this item, when you hit a backstab you are dealing +90 DAMAGE DUDE! And with 30% Evasion, you will miss almost one-third of their attacks! YA HEARD?
And if the game continues,
9.Buriza-do Kyanon
If the game reaches this point, arm your self with a Buriza. x2.2 critical is something to be dared, specially with your Backstab. When you start to score criticals with your backstab (and you will), sayanora for the poor guy.
10.Radiance
With your perma invisibility, this could make you reveal your location to the enemies. But then again, think! You can hurt them just by standing near them! They will be pissed for sure. And also, think of the mental effect this cause. DotA is a MIND GAME after all. When they see your immolation aura damaging them, most of them will definitely get upset and make the mistake you are looking for. However, I don't recommend this if the enemies have AOE heroes and stunners. Last thing you want is to get caught and stunned. You are agility and you have little health, so be careful.

I wish to hear your comments, and your builds. :)
Until then, Peace.
